The CID filed another part chargesheet with the Court of Special Judge, Assam on Tuesday, November 4 in connection to the multi crore rupee excise department scam naming three more officials - Pranjal Bora, Excise Inspector Bijoy Das and Excise Superintendent Ajay Bayan - as accused.
The case was registered on November 20, 2015, based on a complaint lodged by then excise commissioner Shamsher Singh about alleged evasion of excise duty and VAT to the tune of around Rs 40 crore by B.G. Bonded Warehouse at Lokhra in Guwahati.
Earlier, the investigating agency had arrested deputy commissioner Pranjal Bora, excise superintendent Amarendra Nath, liquor mafia Rajesh Jalan and proprietor of BG bonded warehouse Bonti Gogoi Pegu in connection with the scam.
