GUWAHATI: A wild elephant has died in one of the ranges of the Manas National Park forest. As per sources, the elephant has allegedly died from an electric shock.

The death was confirmed by Manas National Park Forest official Babul Brahma to G Plus. The incident happened in the Kuklung range of Manas National Park in Chirang, Assam.

"Locals draw live electric wires in their farms and houses. The elephants upon crossing engage with them leading to their deaths," a high-level official from Wildlife Trust of India told G Plus.
To enquire upon the situation, G Plus contacted the local Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) who didn't respond to the call.
