Assam Elections 2021: BJP's Pijush Hazarika Wins Jagiroad Constituency Seat Once Again

GUWAHATI: Pijush Hazarika of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has won the Jagiroad constituency seat against the Indian National Congress (INC) candidate Swapan Kumar Mandal in the Assam Assembly Elections 2021.

 

Pijush Hazarika, who is the incumbent MLA of Jagiroad and the Minister of State for Urban Development, Health, and Family Welfare has managed to retain his Jagiroad constituency seat for the second time. Pijush Hazarika has bagged 1,06,643 votes defeating Congress candidate Swapan Kumar Mandal.

 

Expressing joy over winning the Assembly Elections, 43-year-old Hazarika tweeted "I am forever indebted to all our dedicated @BJP4India Karyakartas, the Voters of my constituency, my friends and well-wishers for my resounding victory today. I pledge to serve with renewed vigour and utmost sincerity."

 

In the 2016 Assam Assembly Elections, Pijush Hazarika had won the seat from the Jagiroad constituency by defeating his rival and Congress candidate Bibekananda Dalai by a margin of 28,326 votes.
