Assam DGP Announces ₹5 Lakh On Information On Bomb Planters

GUWAHATI: Assam’s Director General of Police (DGP), GP Singh, has announced a reward of ₹5 lakhs for any information leading to the identification of those responsible for planting bombs in Guwahati.

This announcement came after four bomb like objects were found in Guwahati. 

On Friday, August 16, DGP GP Singh made a public appeal, urging citizens to come forward with any information that could assist in the investigation. He assured that the identity of the informants would be kept confidential and emphasized the importance of public cooperation in ensuring the safety and security of the state. 

Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed under the leadership of the Joint Commissioner of Police.

This team will focus on uncovering the details behind the bomb incident and bringing the perpetrators to justice. The SIT will not only operate in Guwahati but will extend its probe to districts outside the city. 

The team in other districts will be led by an Additional Superintendent of Police from the Crime Branch. 

He also said that police will go to Upper Assam on Saturday for further investigation.
