GUWAHATI: The Barama Police Station (PS) has arrested a notorious snatcher identified as Harajit Baishya from Juwardi, Nalbari.
Baishya had been linked to several recent snatching incidents in the Barama region.
This habitual criminal has a history of involvement in various property-related crimes.
In a separate operation, the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gobardhana PS has apprehended a number of vehicle lifters.
Five individuals involved in vehicle theft were apprehended, and the police managed to recover an e-rickshaw and a two-wheeler that had been reported stolen in recent incidents.
Baksa Police put out a statement on X, which read, “Barama PS arrested one snatcher, Harajit Baishya of Juwardi, Nalbari who was involved in the recent snatching incidents in Barama. The arrested snatcher is a habitual criminal and has been involved in many crimes against property.”
“Continuing action against criminals, OC Gobardhana PS arrested 5 vehicle lifters and recovered one E-Rickshaw and one Glamour bike that were recently stolen,” Baksa police further posted.
