GUWAHATI: A Jharkhand man was arrested by the Crime Branch of Assam Police on February 5 while impersonating himself as an official of the Department of Health Service, Government of Assam.
Identified as Kamesh Pal (27 years) of Garhwa Jharkhand, the man had been making phone calls to candidates appearing for various posts under of the health department and demanding money in lieu of the posts.
A team of Crime Branch, Guwahati Police arrested the accused from Jamshedpur. He is presently being brought to Guwahati.
