GUWAHATI: According to an official press release by ACA, it has been announced that the Inter-Institution Cricket Tournament will be held for the year 2023.
The tournament will be according to the T20 format and will start from May 20 to June 1. The matches will be played at three venues - ACA Stadium Main Ground, ACA Stadium Annex Ground, and Amingaon Cricket Ground as the official release stated.
The official press release also provides information on the tournament stating, “The tournament will consist of four groups with six teams in each group. The participating players will have to carry their official IDs with them, and they have to be either permanent employees or on a contractual basis to play for a team. Only employees serving in Assam will be considered to participate in the tournament. The tournament will follow the BCCI Men's T20 Playing Condition, as in 2022-23. The winners of the tournament will receive a cash prize of ₹5 lakh, while the runners-up will receive ₹2.5 lakh. Semifinalists will get ₹1.5 lakh. In addition to this, there will be individual awards as well. The best batter, fielder, and bowler will receive a cash prize of ₹50,000 each. The player of the tournament will get ₹1 lakh, and the player of the final will get ₹50,000.”
This tournament is expected to provide opportunities for the players to showcase their talent and along with promoting cricket in the state.
