GUWAHATI: Fighting against the COVID pandemic, the Assam government has 20,000 cured patients as on July 23.

Taking to his Twitter handle, Assam Health Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma wrote, "In moments like these, such information - we crossed 20,000 cured patients mark - bring cheers. Also second day in a row, our discharge figures on July 23 are higher than new cases. Kudos to all who made this possible."
Meanwhile, active cases in Assam stand at 8,019 with 70 deaths reported. Notably, on July 23, 1,047 new COVID-19 cases were detected with 219 of them in Guwahati city alone.
