GUWAHATI: Another person from Dhubri, connected with Tablighi Jamaat meet at Nizamuddin Markaz, has been found COVID-19 positive in Assam.
The total number of COVID-19 patients in Assam now stands at 30.
It is to be mentioned that majority of the cases so far reported positive in Assam are rooted to the Nizamuddin Markaz apart from one patient from Guwahati who has no link to the Nizamuddin Markaz.
Meanwhile, Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma informed the 65-year-old man from Hailakandi district died in Silchar with complications of COVID-19.
It is to be mentioned that the deceased, Faijul Haque Barbhyan, was undergoing treatment at Silchar Medical College and Hospital (SMCH). He had a travel history to Saudi Arabia, and had tested COVID-19 positive along with 28 others from the state. He also had a travel history to Nizamuddin Markaz in Delhi.
