GUWAHATI: Commandos from the Rhino Protection Task Force will ensure the safety and protection of rhinos from poachers in Kaziranga National Park (KNP). This was stated by ADGP GP Singh, who also leads the force.
Two Commando teams comprising of 80 personnel have been deployed in Kartika and North Biswanath camps.
To stop poachers entering and operating from North Bank, teams of commandos have been deployed, officials told local media.
The commandos are equipped with the latest communication equipment like satellite phones and other gadgets. The use of drones for surveillance is also being done, said the official.
The commandos will not operate independently and will work in coordination with the Assam Forest Officials.
