GUWAHATI: Assam chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal applauded an 11-year-old boy from Missamari village in Sonitpur district of Assam for his act of selfless bravery.
The boy, identified as Uttam Tati saved the life of a woman and her daughter by jumping into the Dighalijan river and pulling them out.

Following the incident, Sonowal tweeted, “No words would be enough for the courageous act done by 11-year-old Uttam Tati of Missamari, Sonitpur. He saved the life of a woman and her child who fell into a river. Hats off to his bravery!”
It should be noted that the mother and daughter survived, however, the woman’s 18-month-old girl could not be saved.
Tati is a student of class V from Balisuti Buniyadi Vidyalaya and his father is a daily wage earner.
