Assam CM flags off direct flight service from Guwahati to Dhaka

GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on July 1 launched the maiden Guwahati-Dhaka flight service at the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati.

SpiceJet will operate the daily flight service, which is part of the government’s International Air Connectivity Scheme (IACS). 

The flight will depart Guwahati at 11:55 AM and reach Dhaka at 1:20 PM everyday, covering a total travel time of 55 minutes.

The inaugural event was attended by Chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal who was the chief guest, Bangladesh Assistant high Commissioner Shah Mohammad Tanver, State Transport Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary, Education Minister Siddhartha Bhattacharya, Irrigation Minister Bhabesh Kalita and West Guwahati MLA Ramendra Narayan Kalita.

Speaking on the event, CM Sonowal said that more flights are in the pipeline and that Guwahati will soon be connected to Malaysia and Bangkok via flight services as well.
