This will be done to provide the youth of the state with an opportunity to work with the Assam government in rural areas.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said, “I hope that today we have taken this scheme forward in the second phase, and even after this phase we will also build the self-reliant Assam society of the Chief Minister through which society or through Sec 9 of company, we will give CM scholarship to MBA graduates. For the MBA graduates  who join us, the training will be for 2 years from now.”

500 graduates are reportedly in line to join this scheme, as a part of their fellowship programme.

CM Sarma further said in this context, “Because after the loan is exhausted post the disbursement, there will not be much work, so a part of the programme will be started where they will get their degree or fellowship from a reputed university and get a chance to work for the state government for 2 years.”

This programme will be known as CM Fellowship during which they will work with the Assam government while staying in rural areas and will also be recipients of many other benefits from the state.

CM Sarma further said, “These individuals will be trained very well by the IIMs or other institutions so that the policies that we incubate through them is that we make continuous efforts to support the children and make them eligible for loans from the bank and for that purpose, we will start this fellowship programme in parallel.”
