Assam CM, DGP Intervene In Alleged Land Occupation Case In Guwahati

 

GUWAHATI: A group of 30 people have forcibly occupied a house belonging to a retired government employee prompting the chief minister and the police chief to intervene after the matter was brought to their notice.

The occupiers are reportedly demanding Rs 20 lakh to vacate the property.

The situation was brought to light by a user calling himself Kangkan Das on social media platform X, who detailed the illegal occupation at House No. 10, Puberun Nagar Path, Bylane No. 2, Satgaon, Guwahati.

The user tagged Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Director General of Police (DGP) GP Singh in his plea for help. In response, Sarma instructed the authorities to investigate the matter, tweeting, "Pl enquire into the matter @GuwahatiPol @DGPAssamPolice."

The DGP confirmed that appropriate instructions have been issued to address the grievance per legal procedures. "Sir, Appropriate instructions have been issued to proceed per law to mitigate the grievance," stated Singh in his response.
