GUWAHATI: Many people claim to have been denied vaccination at government allotted vaccine centres in Assam even after getting appointments through www.cowin.gov.in. or the CoWin application.
"I booked the 11 AM-1 PM slot for Saturday, May 8 through CoWin app for my mother at Balowa Mini Public Health Centre (MPHC), Nalbari in Assam. After reaching the place with a print-out of the confirmed booking letter, MPHC authorities said that all the slots are over," Hemanga Deka told G Plus.
He further alleged that the MPHC authorities had no idea about online reservations. "They have asked us to come again on Monday, May 10 and wait in line again, where sadly COVID-19 protocols were not being followed," added Hemanga Deka.
"What is the point of online registration and choosing a time slot to avoid crowds, if the healthcare authorities have no information about it? If they are not giving the vaccination to the registered citizens, then where are those vaccines going?" he pointed out.
Registered people with allocated slots across Guwahati city have also claimed that priority was not given to the allocated time slots especially in the Ulubari and Maligaon centres. Instead, vaccine was being administered on first come first serve basis.
