Assam: Cabinet Meetings To Reach District Headquarters In Tinsukia, North Lakhimpur And Nagaon

GUWAHATI: The Assam State Government during the State Cabinet Meeting held on October 9 unveiled an initiative aimed at bringing governance closer to the people in which the cabinet meetings for the months of November, December 2023, and January 2024 will be convened in various District Headquarters across the state. 

This decision is aimed to enhance transparency and public participation in government affairs.

The upcoming Cabinet meetings will be held as follows:

November 2023: Tinsukia District Headquarters

December 2023: North Lakhimpur District Headquarters

January 2024: Nagaon District Headquarters

This initiative will encourage open dialogue, enable firsthand assessments of regional issues, and promote informed decision-making.

District Commissioners (DCs) have been advised to manage the Cabinet meetings within a budgetary framework of ₹5 lakh.

Furthermore, DCs have been informed not to initiate new repair works for Circuit Houses and Inspection Bungalows specifically for the purpose of hosting Cabinet meetings.
