Assam Cabinet Approves Modification Of Villages Under Mising Autonomous Council

GUWAHATI: The Assam Cabinet on Sunday, October 27 approved a proposal to modify the list of villages under the Mising Autonomous Council, which aims to benefit the people in the council area.

The modifications will involve de-notification of 273 census villages that do not have a Mising population. 

Additionally, 253 census villages will be modified  as Part Villages to reflect only the areas inhabited by the Mising community.

Furthermore, a fresh notification will be issued for 255 villages, either in part or in full, that are inhabited by the Mising population. 

Only the parts of villages predominantly inhabited by the Mising community will be included in the Mising Autonomous Council (MAC).
