GUWAHATI: The Assam Cabinet, on October 27, approved a 3 per cent increase in dearness allowance (DA) and dearness relief (DR) for state government employees and pensioners, following the Centre's recent adjustments for its employees.

This hike brings the DA/DR rate to 53 per cent, effective from July 1, 2024.
The revised rate of 53 per cent will be paid along with the monthly pay/ pension of October 2024 and will be payable in November, 2024.
Additionally, arrears for the months of July, August, September, and October 2024 will be provided in four equal installments in the months of December 2024 and January, February, and March 2025 respectively.
