GUWAHATI: While delivering the Republic Day speech on January 26, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced a slew of schemes and claimed that Bohag Bihu will be celebrated in an international level.
On April 14, around 10 to 15 thousand people will sing Bihu in Guwahati which will be recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records, said the Chief Minister.

He also said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be in Guwahati during Bohag Bihu this year.
After celebrating Bir Lachit Barpukan's 400th birth anniversary at an international level, the Assam government want to promote Bohag Bihu internationally.
He also said that ₹300 crore will be sanctioned to develop Kamakhya Temple.
