GUWAHATI: The body of a man was reportedly found floating in the Kulsi River in Boko on June 26.
The individual identified to be one journalist, Abdur Rauf Alamgir, was reportedly abducted by unidentified miscreants on June 24 from Jambari, situated in the Kamrup (Rural) district of Assam.
Following his abduction, the journalist had been missing, intensifying the concerns surrounding his safety. Today his body resurfaced in the Kulsi River near Jambari, causing shock among the locals.
Officer-In-Charge of Boko police while speaking to G Plus confirmed, “We have found the body of the individual named Abdur Rauf Alamgir and he was a journalist of a web portal, a local one, and after finding his body we have sent it for post-mortem.”
Quick to respond, a group of residents who happened to be present when the body emerged from the water, promptly retrieved it and immediately alerted the Boko Police. Law enforcement swiftly arrived at the scene and took custody of the crime scene, as per official reports.
