GUWAHATI: The body of a businessman who had gone missing earlier this month was found floating in the Burhi Dihing River in Duliajan, located in Assam's Dibrugarh district.
Rajesh Agarwala, who was last seen near a local railway station on August 12, was identified as the deceased, as confirmed by the Dibrugarh Police officials.
Local residents made the discovery on Tuesday morning and alerted the authorities.
Upon receiving the information, Dibrugarh Police arrived at the scene and retrieved the body from the river, with the intention of conducting a thorough post-mortem examination.
The circumstances surrounding Agarwala's demise remain unclear, and the exact cause of death is yet to be determined. Police officials have initiated an investigation into the incident to ascertain the events leading up to his tragic end.
