Assam BJP MP Pradan Baruah tests Positive for COVID-19

GUWAHATI: Bharatiya Janata Party Member of Parliament (MP) from Assam, Pradan Baruah has tested positive for COVID-19.

 

Baruah, who represents the Lakhimpur Lok Sabha seat in North Assam, went through a test for COVID-19 in Delhi where he was to attend the Monsoon Session of Parliament.

 

Reportedly, Pradan Baruah is in home isolation at his Delhi residence.

 

The Monsoon session started on Monday, September 14, and COVID tests have been made mandatory for those attending it. A total of over 17 Lok Sabha MPs have so far tested positive for the virus.

 

Earlier two other saffron party MPs from Assam tested positive for the virus.

 

While BJP MP Topon Kumar Gogoi, who represents Jorhat constituency tested positive for COVID-19 on Wednesday night while his party colleague and MP from Mangaldoi seat, Dilip Saikia tested positive for the virus on Thursday.
