GUWAHATI: The Assam Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, approved the Assam Registration of Births and Deaths (Amendment) Rules, 2024, on Wednesday, 1 January.
The amendment, passed during the Cabinet's first meeting of the year in Koinadhora, Guwahati, aims to make the process of registering births and deaths more accessible and efficient for citizens.
With these changes, the state government intends to streamline the registration system, helping citizens complete these important formalities with greater ease.
