GUWAHATI: The Assam Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, approved ₹207.92 crore for water supply projects during its first meeting of 2025, held on Wednesday, January 1, in Koinadhora, Guwahati.

The funds, allocated under the Urban Infrastructure Development Fund (UIDF), aim to provide clean drinking water to households in four towns- Sivasagar, Dibrugarh, Tezpur, and North Lakhimpur as part of the 'Har Ghar Jal' initiative.
The projects will focus on improving access to safe drinking water in these urban areas.
The Cabinet meeting resulted in four major decisions aimed at advancing the state’s development and infrastructure.
