Assam Announces Initiatives Worth Over ₹22,000 Crore For Education Department

GUWAHATI: The Government of Assam unveiled a comprehensive plan on Monday to invest ₹22,798.63 crore in a range of developmental projects. 

These initiatives encompass the establishment of new educational institutions and the enhancement of existing ones across the state.

Under the flagship National Infrastructure Development Agenda (NIDA), the government has introduced several transformative projects that are set to reshape the educational landscape in the state. 

Some of the key projects in the pipeline are:

- Behali Engineering College

- Sualkuchi Engineering College

- Bongaigaon Engineering College

- 9 Model Colleges across Sonai, Chenga, Batadrava, Mangaldoi, Golokganj, Jaleswar, Bilasipara, Hailakandi, and Karimganj

- 2500 State-of-the-art LP Schools

- Majuli University of Culture

- Rabindranath Tagore University

- Bhattadev University

- Madhab Dev University

- Birangana Sati Sadhini State University

- Anirudha Sports University

- Jorhat Women's College

- 9 Women's Colleges
