Assam Allocates ₹150 Crore To Improve Police Station Infrastructure

GUWAHATI: The Assam Cabinet on Sunday, October 27, approved a financial sanction of ₹150 crore for improving infrastructure of police stations under Mission for Overall Improvement of Thana for Responsive Image (MOITRI). This initiative aims to enhance the overall police infrastructure across the state.

Under MOITRI, the development includes improving physical infrastructure, internet connectivity, and tools for cyber-crime detection at each police station in Assam. 

So far, 103 police stations have been upgraded, along with the completion of 33 pre-engineered building barracks and 46 additional projects, which include police reserves, transit camps, office buildings, and AT barracks.
 

New Election Establishment


The  Cabinet also approved the creation of a new Election Establishment in Tamulpur.

The decision was taken to enhance and support election activities, like pre-Special Summary Revision (SSR) and the smooth conduct of elections. This Cabinet’s decision aims to facilitate various election-related activities in the region. 

The District Commissioner of Tamulpur has already been notified as the District Election Officer (DEO) to supervise election-related works for two Assembly Constituencies: 43 Tamulpur (ST) and 44 Goreswar.
