Assam: AGP Welcomes More Than 150 New Members

GUWAHATI: The Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) on Thursday, July 15, welcomed more than 150 new members into their party at a function held at AGP headquarters in Ambari, Guwahati.

Jatiya Yuva Shakti's Chief Convenor Nomal Bora was among the new members joining the regional party.

AGP is a key ally of the ruling alliance (Bharatiya Janata Party) and is led by President Atul Bora. On the occasion, he appealed to the new members to dedicate themselves to the welfare and development of the people of Assam and work towards strengthening the party base at the grassroots.

"The AGP is always with the people of Assam. So, the coalition government of the BJP-AGP-UPPL (United People's Party Liberal) will carry on more welfare schemes for the people of the State," the AGP President added. 

Assam Health Minister and senior AGP leader Keshab Mahanta took to Twitter to share the news. "The AGP has got further strengthened today with more than 150 people joining the party. Welcomed Jatiya Yuva Shakti's chief convenor Shri Nomal Bora & the new members to the party," Mahanta wrote.
