GUWAHATI: Assam Education Minister, Ranoj Pegu, announced significant progress in the state's education sector through the implementation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) stating that the state has enrolled a staggering 94% of its student population, totalling 4,563,854 out of 4,842,383, using face detection AI technology within the Shiksha Setu platform.
This was shared by the State Education Minster on Twitter who also stated that the attendance of 2,833,439 students, accounting for 62% of the total enrolled, was recorded on the same day.
This achievement has positioned Assam as the first state in India to successfully implement such a comprehensive digital AI-based attendance and enrolment system.
The utilization of face-detection AI technology within the Shiksha Setu platform has enabled Assam to take significant strides towards improving educational transparency and efficiency. With 94% of students enrolled in the system, the state has taken a major step in digitizing educational records and ensuring that accurate data is readily available for administrative purposes.
