GUWAHATI: In a recent development, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma distributed appointment letters to 514 candidates yesterday, as part of his promise of creating one lakh jobs. CM Sarma also revealed that Assam will advertise another 22,000 vacancies soon.
The beneficiaries were successful Grade 3 and Grade 4 candidates who all secured the same cut-off marks. Sarma revealed that the number of state government jobs created since he assumed office stands at 87,402.
Taking to Twitter, CM’s official account stated, "Today HCM Dr @himantabiswa has distributed 514 appointment letters to successful Grade 3 & Grade 4 candidates. With this, the number of State Government jobs created stands at 87,402 since HCM assumed office in May 2021."
Taking to his personal Twitter account, Sarma further shared, “Shortly, we will advertise another 22,000 vacancies - taking the total Govt jobs created to 1.09 lakh. Our 2021 election promise was to create 1 lakh Govt jobs.”
The appointment letters are set to cover various government departments, including Administrative Reforms and Training and Pension and Public Grievances (1), Labour Welfare (3), Mines and Minerals (3), Panchayat and Rural Development (90), Public Health Engineering (4), Public Works (Buildings and National Highway) (24), Public Works (Roads) (77), Power (1), Personnel (1), Revenue and Disaster Management (7), School Education (140), Animal Husbandry and Veterinary (7), Co-operation (2), Cultural Affairs (4), Environment and Forest (6), Election (2), Finance (3), Fishery (1), Food, Public Distribution and Consumer Affairs (3), General Administration (6), Handloom and Textile (5), Higher Education 12, Home and Political Information (6), Information, Public Relations, Printing and Stationary (6), Indigenous and Tribal Faith and Culture (2), Industries, Commerce and Public Enterprise (4), Skill Employment and Entrepreneurship (2), Sports and Youth Welfare (1), Transformation and Development (1), Transport (13), Tribal Affairs (6), Tourism (13), Water Resources (41), Irrigation (11), and Women and Child Development (6).
