This decision aims to provide effective and efficient citizen-centric administration at the grassroots level.

During a meeting on Wednesday, September 4, the Cabinet also decided on central locations for the headquarters of these sub-districts. Each sub-district will be overseen by an Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) and two Assistant Commissioners.

Additionally, a new Circle and Sub-district for Behali was also approved by the cabinet. This is part of a larger plan to eventually operationalise 78 notified sub-districts across the state.
