GUWAHATI: The Assam Government has issued a notification for temporarily attaching the services of 14 Assam Civil Services (ACS) officers to the Cultural Affairs Department.
The move is aimed at ensuring the smooth implementation of the upcoming "Amrit Kalash Yatra" programme, which is scheduled to be held from October 25 to November 4.
After the huge success of phase one of Meri Maati Mera Desh (MMMD), the second phase of the campaign was launched on September 1, encouraging people from each district and village to take part in Amrit Kalash Yatras.
From September 1 to 30, soil and rice from villages were collected in Amrit Kalash, which were sent to the Blocks from October 1 to 13.
And from the Block level, the Kalash Yatra will start to travel to the capital city of the respective states and union territories from October 22 to 27.
Subsequently, the Amrit Kalash from across the country will be transported to New Delhi from October 28 to 30 for the culmination of the campaign.
Since the Amrit Kalash from all the blocks of Assam will start moving to Guwahati, the ACS officers have been attached with the Cultural Affairs Department for the smooth conduct of the mammoth campaign.
The ACS officers temporarily assigned for the programme are Arundhuti Narah Mipun, Lakhyajit Duwaria, Ramanuj Hazarika, Sanghamitra Bhagawati, Mridusmita Borah, Bistirna Barua, Mitalee Lahkar, Jenifer Yasmin Choudhury, Alakananda Medhi, Tarali Das, Jimlee Saikia, Romy Baruah, and Sabyasachee Kashyap.
The officers have been instructed to report to Ashok Kr. Barman, IAS (Retd.), Special Secretary, Cultural Affairs Department, on October 20, at 4 PM. This meeting will provide further instructions and details regarding their roles and responsibilities during the "Amrit Kalash Yatra."
