Assam: 12-Year-Old Rescued After Being Allegedly Kidnapped By Student

 

GUWAHATI: A student from the Jamia Islamia Jalalia Madrassa at Hojai district in Assam allegedly abducted a 12-year-old student from the same institute. 

As per initial reports, the accused had demanded a ransom of ₹5 lakh from the victim's parents and issued threats of harm if the money was not paid.

As soon as the victim's father received the demand for ransom, he filed an FIR at the Hojai Police Station. 

In response, a swift and extensive search operation was initiated by the Hojai Police, led by the Additional Superintendent of Police (SP) of Hojai, Pallab Tamuli and successfully rescued the boy.

Following the rescue, the Hojai police managed to apprehend the accused and it was revealed that the accused was himself a student at the same Madrassa.

Speaking to the media, Addl. SP Tamuli stated, "Upon receiving information about the kidnapping of a student, we swiftly mobilized our resources. After an intense operation lasting three hours, we were able to successfully rescue the minor boy and apprehend the kidnapper." 

Addl. SP Tamuli further mentioned that Mustafizur Rahman hailed from Goalpara and additional investigation is currently underway.
