Assam: 1 Fresh COVID-19 Case from GMCH Post Reopening

GUWAHATI: State Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on twitter announced that 3 persons tested positive for coronavirus in Kamrup Metro on May 15. 

Of the fresh cases registered, one person is from Sarusajai Quarantine camp, 1 is an indoor patient of Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) and the third positive patient has migrated to West Bengal.

The Gauhati Medical College and Hospital has recently been removed from the list of Containment Zones in Guwahati yesterday, after the Deputy Commissioner notified, vide a notice, that the hospital would now be open to treat COVID patients.

The total tally of COVID-19 positive cases in the state now stands at 89 with 44 active cases and 2 deaths. 

41 people have been cured and discharged so far in Assam and 2 people have migrated from the state.
