GUWAHATI: The Regional Weather Forecasting Centre (RWFC) issued a warning today, on February 5, stating that thunderstorm and lightning is very likely to occur at isolated places over Arunachal Pradesh, along with chances of light snowfall on the higher reaches of the state, over the next 24 hours.
“Light to moderate rain very likely to occur at many places over Arunachal Pradesh and light rain very likely to occur at isolated places over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura,” the forecast by the RWFC further stated.
The cold spell is the region is expected to continue as the minimum temperature in Shillong is forecasted to go down to 4.5° Celsius today with a maximum temperature of 12.7° Celsius, while Kohima will see a minimum temperature of 6° Celsius with a maximum temperature of 16° Celsius.
Guwahati and surrounding areas will experience a partly cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thundershower, while the maximum and minimum temperatures are most likely to be 24°C & 13°C respectively, according to the forecast.
