Arman Ali takes charge as Executive Director of NCPEDP

GUWAHATI: National Centre for Promotion of Employment for Disabled People (NCPEDP) announced Assam’s Arman Ali, a disability rights activist and the executive director of Shishu Sarothi, the Centre for Rehabilitation and Training for Multiple Disability, based in Guwahati as its executive director.

38-year-old Ali, who had been a member of the National Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, the parent body of NCPEDP for a long time and had played crucial roles in several campaigns including the one that made Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act a reality.

"It is a very crucial time when I have been provided with this responsibility. I will work to help implement the act in a better way. Also, the elections are coming and it would be interesting to see how things will take shape," Ali told G Plus over the phone today.

He is expected to take charge formally in October this year.
