APS Tezpur Wins Assam Fit India Quiz, Advances to Nationals

GUWAHATI: Army Public School Tezpur has emerged as the state champion in the Assam round of the Fit India Quiz 2023, securing a prize of ₹3 lakh and advancing to the national finale in Delhi.

The Fit India Quiz, recognised as India's largest sports and fitness quiz, offers a total prize pool of ₹3.25 crore to schools and students nationwide. In Assam, 56 schools participated, with eight advancing to the state rounds. Teams from Army Public School Tezpur, Gurukul Grammar Senior Secondary School Kamrup Metropolitan, Kendriya Vidyalaya ARC Doomdooma, and Don Bosco Higher Secondary School Tezpur, Sonitpur have reached the finals. The team from Army Public School Tezpur, consisting of students Prajwal S and Mayank Jalan, won the state round.

The winning duo will receive ₹25,000, and their school will be awarded ₹2.5 lakhs. Gurukul Grammar Senior Secondary School will receive ₹1 lakh, with their students getting ₹10,000. Kendriya Vidyalaya ARC Doomdooma will be awarded ₹50,000, and their students will get ₹5,000. All participating schools in the state/UT rounds will receive ₹15,000, and participating students will receive ₹2,000 each.

The preliminary round, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), saw 1,03,671 students from 41,789 schools across the country participating. From these, 256 schools qualified for the state level stage, with four teams from each state/UT moving to the finals.
