APDCL Issues Clarification For Spike In Energy Consumption For A Day

GUWAHATI: APDCL (Assam Power Distribution Co. Ltd.) released a statement stating that due to a communication-related issue some of the smart meters in use did not communicate the energy consumption or balance deduction of the users in the state for May 10. This was shown as a spike in balance deduction depicting twice the value on the next day, May 11, which did arise questions among the people of the state.

APDCL clarified that the spike shown in the mobile application was after counting the balance deduction of two consecutive days and not just for the one day, which had earlier caused confusion amongst the residents of the city regarding this incident.

APDCL took to their Twitter to tag Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma and Nandita Gorlosa, the Assam Cabinet Minister for Power, Mines & Minerals, Cooperation, and Indigenous Tribal Faith & Culture Department to post the statement in the public interest.
