APDCL Exceeds Revenue Collection Targets As Assam Govt Departments Pay Up

GUWAHATI: The Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL) has collected a revenue of Rs 4,502 crore against the demand of Rs 4,298 crore during the period from June 2021 to January 2022, which is 105% in terms of collection efficiency, as per a notification. 

The notification further stated that Government consumers have been making regular payments since June 2021. The Assam Government has made Rs 162.28 crore in payment against nine of its centralised departments till January 2022, as per the notification. Additionally, the Government has released almost all pending energy dues for other departments.

At the beginning of June 2021, the arrear outstanding was Rs 2,210 crore, and by the end of January 2022, the arrear outstanding came down to Rs 1,692 crore, the notification stated.  

Furthermore, a pre-paid wallet-based collection agent, APDCL EasyPay, has been engaged for the collection of revenue in rural areas. This has not only boosted the revenue collection of APDCL but has also helped in employment generation in rural areas.
