GUWAHATI: Anundoram Borooah Award was conferred on November 29 upon 27,183 outstanding students who achieved remarkable success by securing 75% or more marks in their HSLC exams at various places in Assam.
The award, presented by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, aims to recognise and reward the academic excellence of these students.
In a statewide initiative, a total of 27,183 students from across Assam have been bestowed with the Anundoram Borooah Award today. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also transferred ₹15,000 directly to the bank accounts of each awardee. This financial support is intended to further motivate and support the students in their educational pursuits.
The Anundoram Borooah Award is named after Lt. Anundoram Borooah, the first Assamese to join the Indian Civil Services in 1872. This honor commemorates Borooah's legacy and seeks to instill in students his spirit of academic enterprise, hard work, and perseverance.
