GUWAHATI: The Dibrugarh University Post Graduate Students' Union on Sunday announced that it will not allow any member of the ruling BJP, including Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, into the campus in protest against the controversial Citizenship (Amendment) Bill.

The students alleged that amidst the ongoing protests against the bill, Sonowal is silent on the matter.

Along with Sonowal, the students ‘banned’ the entry of Assam Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Rajya Sabha MP Kamakhya Prasad Tasa and Lahoal MLA Rituparna Baruah into the campus.

It is to be mentioned that DU is Sonowal’s alma mater.

Various institutions from all across Assam are protesting against CAB. On November 30, students of Cotton University took out a torch rally to show their resentment against the bill.
