Alok Kumar appointed as New Chief Secretary of Assam; Reshuffle announced in Dispur

GUWAHATI: Alok Kumar has been appointed as the new Chief Secretary of Assam. He will take charge after the current Chief Secretary, T.Y Das retires on 31st August.

Sources in Dispur revealed that the announcement is likely to be made on Tuesday evening.

Alok Kumar, a 1984 batch IAS officer of Assam-Meghalaya cadre was previously also the Secretary of Central Vigilance Commission (CVC), country's top anti-corruption body.

Additionally, Kumar Sanjay Krishna has been appointed as the new Additional Chief Secretary, Home and Political Department and Rajiv Kumar Bora have been appointed as the Additional Chief Secretary of Finance and Hill Areas Department.
