Alleged Dacoit Injured In Police Shootout In Guwahati

 

GUWAHATI: An alleged dacoit was wounded after police opened fire on him during a late night operation in the Jorabat area of Guwahati on Tuesday.

The suspect, identified as 32-year-old Ramesh Daimary, is allegedly linked to numerous robbery and theft incidents across the city. He hails from Tamulpur district. Daimary is currently receiving medical treatment at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for a gunshot wound to his leg.
 

Ramesh Daimary has a long criminal record, including chain-snatching and burglaries, with over 100 cases registered against him. Reports revealed that he had been released from prison just days ago and quickly resumed his criminal activities.

In the same operation, police also apprehended Daimary's accomplice, Fazal Ali. Authorities seized various items connected to their criminal activities from his possession.
