AASU Urges APSC To Change CCE Date To Address Exam Clash

GUWAHATI: The All Assam Students Union (AASU) has expressed concerns regarding the simultaneous scheduling of the Assam Public Service Commission's (APSC) Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) (Preliminary) 2023 and the State Eligibility Test (SET) 2024 by the SLET Commission of Assam. Both examinations are slated for March 17, 2024, prompting AASU to appeal to APSC for reconsideration.

The scheduling conflict arose when the SLET Commission announced the date for NE SET 2024 on March 17, 2024, preceding APSC's declaration of the same date for CCE 2023-24. This alignment has presented a challenge for candidates preparing for both exams.

The official press release from AASU read "The clash of exams on the same date has created a significant dilemma for candidates preparing for both SET and CCE. This clash poses a challenge for those aiming to appear for the SET, with the exams occurring simultaneously. Candidates investing substantial time, effort, and resources in preparing for both examinations now face uncertainty and potential setbacks due to the scheduling conflict. Therefore, keeping in view the academic future of the candidates, I request you to change the date of the associated competitive (preliminary) examination of the Assam Public Service Commission.”

In response to these challenges, AASU has appealed to APSC, urging them to contemplate a change in the date of CCE 2023-24 to alleviate the predicament faced by aspirants preparing for both SET and CCE.
