AASU Sweeps Guwahati’s Handique Girls’ College Student Elections

GUWAHATI: The All Assam Students' Union (AASU) has swept the Students' Union elections at Handique Girls' College for 2024, winning 8 out of the 10 available seats.

Meanwhile, the Asom Chatra Parishad (ACP) managed to secure 2 seats, with their candidates being elected as the Games and Sports Secretary and Cultural Secretary.

Jimpi Rani Das from AASU was elected as the President with 381 votes. Another AASU candidate, Khushi Sharma, was elected as Vice-President, winning 339 votes. 
The other winners are: 
* General Secretary: Gargi Saikia 
* Assistant General Secretary: Banasmita Deka 
* Secretary, Magazine: Aditi Kashyap Hajong 
* Secretary, Common Room: Sharda Kumari 

* Secretary, Community Services: Maini Mahanta (Uncontested) 
* Secretary, Debate and Symposium: Dipandita Majumdar
* Games and Sports Secretary: Sonam Ahmed (Uncontested )
* Cultural section Secretary: Prachi Bhuyan
