AASU Sweeps Dispur College Students’ Union Polls


GUWAHATI: The All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) has made a strong statement by sweeping the Dispur College Students’ Union Elections 2023. A total of 32 candidates were in fray in the electoral contest, vying for a total of 15 crucial positions. 

Out of the 15 positions, AASU emerged victorious in a staggering 10 seats, solidifying their prominence in the college's student body. The results of the college elections bring AASU and Asom Chatra Parishad (ACP) to the forefront of the student leadership scenario in the Dispur College. 

The positions secured by the two student organisations are - President: Deep Jyoti Das (AASU),  Vice President: Himan Barman (ACP), General Secretary: Rajdeep Kalita (AASU),  Assistant General Secretary: Rosee Kalita (ACP), Music and Cultural Secretary: Bedanta Bikash Goswami (AASU), Boys’ Common Room Secretary: Ankur Barman (AASU), Girls’ Common Room Secretary: Mayureema Goswami (ACP), Debate Secretary: Trishna Kalita (AASU), Major Games Secretary: Rishikesh Biswas (AASU), Minor Games Secretary: Neihoilhing Lhouvum (ACP), Magazine Secretary: Dhruba Jyoti Barman (AASU), Social Service Secretary: Biplab Dutta (AASU), Literary Secretary: Bansmita Deka, Fine Arts Secretary: Ankita Das (AASU) and Gymnasium Secretary: Jitupan Das (AASU).
