AASU meets JDU Leader in Delhi, seeks Opposition to CAB

GUWAHATI: Leaders of the All Assam Students’ Union (AASU) on April 10 met Janata Dal (U) Rajya Sabha member, KC Tyagi in New Delhi and asked him to oppose the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill in their election manifesto for the Lok Sabha elections.

The delegation was led by AASU advisor, Samujjal Kumar Bhattacharya and AASU President, Dipankar Nath who met Tyagi and asked him to include the opposition to the CAB in their manifesto.

KC Tyagi assured the AASU members that they will include the issue of CAB in their manifesto and would oppose the Bill. Tyagi further said that NDA’s agenda is different from that of BJP’s agenda.

After the meeting, Samujjal Bhattacharya said, “We have started a campaign opposing the CAB.”
