A lookback at the Budget policies for the past 3 years

GUWAHATI: Speaking at the Budget 2019-20 meeting, Himanta Biswa Sarma said that in 2016, the citizens of the state had given them a “vote of confidence & a mandate to usher in ‘parivartan’” 

“My 1st Budget was inspired by philosophy of Pt. #DeenDayalUpadhyay that consist of 4 pillars (personal integrity, political inclusivity, ethical governance & people’s participation),” he tweeted. 

In 2017, Sarma said that they carried their vision of good governance and the CM, Sarbananda Sonowal gave key mantras of “Videshi Mukt, Durneeti Mukt, Santrasvad Mukt & Pradhushan Mukt Asom.”

He said that for the first time, he introduced the ‘Ashtadash Mukutar Unnoyonee Mala’, which is a set of 18 flagship schemes.

In 2018, his third budget, he said that he had three strands- “Ekatrikaran: consolidation of policies and actionables from previous 2 years; Somprasaron: augmentation of our vision and ambitions; and Uttoron: giving life to our aspirations by bringing in a culture of excellence in work we do as a Govt,” he tweeted.
