GUWAHATI: A candidate was arrested after bringing a mobile phone into the examination hall at S.R. Academy, located in Guwahati's Narengi area, during the Assam Direct Recruitment Examination (ADRE).

The individual, identified as Shabbir Hussain from Nagaon was apprehended when his mobile phone unexpectedly rang during the examination, catching the attention of the invigilator.
Speaking to GPlus, an official from Noonmati police station confirmed the incident, saying, “A man was arrested for carrying a keypad mobile phone into the examination hall at S.R. Academy. He was caught when his mobile phone unexpectedly rang during the examination. We arrived at the scene and arrested him.”
Noonmati Police promptly arrived at the scene and detained Hussain, registering a case against him for violating examination regulations.
An investigation has been launched into the incident.
