GUWAHATI: In the past few months there have been several cases of cattle smuggling through Guwahati to other states.
The Enforcement Deparment on a surprise raid on wee hours of Friday, seized on truck fully-loaded with cattle near Jorabat.
The cattle were being taken from Banderdawa (Arunachal border) to Meghalaya for possible slaughter. The vehicle was carrying 28 cows in it. The number of the seized truck is AS-01-FC-5486.
The ED team was led by enforcement official Gautam Kumar Das, Prahlad Bharali, Tinku Boro and Ronen Bora.
