GUWAHATI: The recovery rate in Assam reached 81.76% on Monday, October 5, even as the state reported 1,518 fresh COVID-19 cases, the health bulletin stated.
The cases were detected from all across the state, out of 35,670 COVID tests conducted. This was informed by the Health Minister of Assam, Himanta Biswa Sarma. The positivity rate for the infection is 4.26%.
Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, Sarma wrote, "Alert ~ 1518 #COVID cases detected out of 35670 tests today."
With this, the total number of COVID cases in Assam has gone up to 1,87,718.
Further, with 1,363 patients discharged from various hospitals within the last 24 hours, active cases in Assam stands at 33,467 while 1,53,488 persons have been cured of the virus.
The COVID-19 death toll in Assam stands at 760.
